The organization in Houston would be considered an expansion team by the league, eventually being known as the Houston Dynamo, who began play in 2006. The Earthquakes returned after a two-year hiatus, resuming play in 2008. As of November 24, 2017, Mikael Stahre is head coach. The Earthquakes play their home games at Avaya Stadium beginning in 2015. The team is coached by Greg Vanney and operated by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, which also operates the United Soccer League's affiliate team Toronto FC II, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Toronto Raptors, the Toronto Argonauts, and other teams. In 2017, Toronto FC won the domestic treble with the MLS Cup, Supporters' Shield and Canadian Championship, and set the all-time MLS regular season record for points with 69.
